初次接觸到詹姆仕，是因為哥哥所買的CD吸引了我的目光。
當下就只有個念頭：什麼詭譎的封面啊！
問了之下，聽說是德國盤的，也沒什麼太吸引我。
直到哥哥放出那首耳熟能詳的you’re beautiful.
「真是渾然天成的獨特嗓音啊！」 我是這麼想的。
這是我所喜歡的聲音，沒有壓力，帶了點傷悲。

布朗特的音樂幾乎都是由他的經歷所形成，以下是華納所編輯的個人經歷節錄：
在如此輝煌的音樂成績背後，低調的詹姆士卻有著如小說人物般的傳奇色彩。詹姆士布朗特(James blunt)出生在軍人家庭，從英國布里斯托大學畢業，到推出這張經典專輯之前，他加入軍隊，一路晉升到上尉、擔任過英國女王親衛隊、也曾被派駐到德國科索沃目睹血腥內戰、並成為第一個被派遣到普利斯提納的英國軍官。在白天，詹姆士是帶領3萬和平部隊的軍官，但每到夜裡，他總會爬上坦克車，在寧靜的夜空下拿著吉他寫歌。
